James Bond Skyfall Review

Before watching this new James Bond movie - Skyfall I heard a lot of very good things about it and that the movie made a lot of money. After the positive feedback I had very high expectations from it, unfortunately I didn't really enjoyed this bond film as I wanted to. To tell you the truth none of the recent 007 movies were good (that’s my opinion) the last Bond movie that I really enjoyed watching was probably Golden Eye and it was way back in 1995.

When the movie started there was this mysterious chase where bond and his partner were chasing someone that stole something. This entire angle was poorly done, and I don’t mean the chase itself, it’s the build up or the lack of build up for the entire scene. It felt very confusing, Bond is chasing someone for 10-20 minutes but I don’t get why and to what purpose. Then Bond gets shot by his partner and from that point on Skyfall just went straight downhill. It got to the point that while I’m watching Skyfall I notice that there are dialogs between the lead Characters, there was a chase in the beginning, a couple of fights and few shootout scenes but then I realized that half of the movie had passed and nothing important had happened. It felt that events are happening but nothing progresses nowhere and we are standing on the same spot where the movie began.  Everything I saw up to the middle of the movie was meaningless and not very exciting.

Half the movie passed and we are introduced to the villain of Skyfall, Javier Bardem. I heard the name before but didn’t see his movies, generally because he played in chick flicks that I didn’t care much for. Seeing him in Skyfall didn't impress me much. Actually he looked really ridicules with that blond hair. His look was so stupid that it made me try and figure out what did the writers wanted to achieve with this weird character? I just couldn’t take him serious; every word that came out of his mouth was completely ignored and just made me question what’s up with that guy’s hair? It’s not bad enough that Silva's character irritated me from the beginning of Skyfall. Silva pissed me off even more when he shot the only hot Bond girl for no reason. If I may state that this was completely pointless. Actually the hot bond girl's entire presence in Skyfall was unclear, I got the feeling that the only reason she was in Skyfall is for bond to do the dirty deed with her and move on. Figures that much, her death was meaningless, as her presence in the movie.

After Silva escaped, Skyfall slightly improved thanks to the chase itself and the exchanges between 007 and Q. right after that Skyfall went to slow mode once again, everything that followed was boring as hell. Even the Death of Silva was made to be lame. A knife to the back - come on Bond, I expected better from you.

What can I say overall about Skyfall? That’s the problem there is not much to say. It was an average film nothing special about it. There was nothing to remember it for. It had its better moments but they were few. If you have 2 hours to kill than watch Skyfall if not you can skip it and you won’t miss a thing because Skyfall is not a cool movie.
